Our main inspiration was from the Marilyn Manson website, this is mainly becuase his music and image is similar to what we where trying to portray in our products as he fit perfectly into our genre. His website is all black, and we wanted ours to be like this, due to our music video related to black and darkness often. We followed a simple layout with a clear banner at the top of the page follwoing the conventional forms of the website pages such as news, tours ect.

Although our website was mainly dark we addded some colour to make the information stand out and this also fiitted our track with it having a hint of electro.

We included many social media sites including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram which were common in all on the websties, as well as music sites such as Spotify and ITunes. In addition we included the copyright information as displayed in the Marilyn Manosn website at the bottom of the page.

I took inspiration mainly from the website displayed on this page, the first website I looked at was Mushroomhead's, I instantly liked the image of the band in the background, I used this in my website with the images of me consistanly showed on every page in the background. We used plain and simple font's like the NIN website, we wanted to make the wesbite clear for the viewer but also make it fit our track so we chose a distorted font. We took the idea of having a video in the middle of the page from both the Linkin Park website and the Marilyn Manon website, the music video would instantly appear on the homepage so the viewer will see their lastest music video.

We wanted to make all three of our products consistent and fall into a pattern. We wanted them all to portray the same message and image to our target audience. For our website we wanted it to match the music video and the imagery portrayed in that, we went with a religious/dark theme throughout the website which challenges the genre as most of the website I looked at where brighter and applied to a more wider audience; however we wanted to make our website slightly different while sticking to the conventions. I researched many websites im my genre as well as a few in different genres, this helped me have an overwiew of what a professional website looked like in the music industry.

I really liked the imagery used in the Linkin Park website, with the distorted angel, we developed this idea by using our own imagery on the welcome page, we used crosses spread through the middle of the page instead of just one image, this related directly to our track. The plain background used on their website also looked great, we decided to stick to a plain black background also. Furthermore Linkin Park also had pictures of the band throughout the website promoting the 'star image', just like we did. Social media sites where widely seen in all of the website's I analysed, as well as a 'community'. You could join 'the community' in the Linkin Park website, we also added this aspect to our website to interact with our audience. We included a memebership to the website on the welcome page, to join the 'lostcausiains'. We added a number of Youtube videos targeting the audience, for example by asking them to get invloved in competitions ect. We got responses from this competition from people on our Twitter site.
