JACOB FLOWERS
For the main artists clothing we had two costumes, one where I was in white for the murder scene and one where is was in all black, this was the main costume in the music video. We took inspiration from artists such as Stabbing Westward, Nine Inch Nails and Gary Numan. The clothing from these artists where fairly simple, with all black clothing. We took insiration from this as I dressed in all black. You will notice that most of the artists also havce black hair, we folllowed this convention and I sprayed my hair partially black, this fit the tone and genre of the music video.
In terms of props we stuck with the conventions of the genre, however developed this so it matched our narrative. We used grusome props such as guts and blood as seen in music videos such as 'Petals' and 'Your Soul is Mine'. We added props such as knifes and religious imagery not neccesarily seen in other videos. I dont feel this challenged the genre, however not majorly as grusome scenes are seen in lots of industrial rock videos.
For cothing in our video we tired to dress my artist suited to the conventions of our genre. I researched many different bands and identified the clothing that woud suit the genre best. There where many different clothing styles from different bands and artists in the genre, ranging from the extreme for example cotumes from mushroomhead and slipknot and to the more subtle approaches like Nine Inch Nails and Stabbing Westward. I went for the more subtle approach as this would suit our realistic narrative, however we did add the extreme in the end scene in terms of props.
The props we used in genreal matched the conventions of the genre, we used many wierd and grusome objects such as skulls however stuck with a consistent religious theme in our video which matched the props we used. The priest costume also matched this.
